The growth of pharmacy technician careers and jobs is constantly increasing. Due to the aging population, there is a greater increase in the demand for prescription medications. As a result, there is also a higher demand for pharmacy technicians to help licensed pharmacists.
Although this job is a behind the scenes type of position, it is very important and helps to maintain the everyday work flow of the pharmacy. The pharmacist verifies and checks all medications before they are given to customers, but it is the technician that does many of the tasks that are related to dispensing medication.

The pharmacy technician has many varied duties when it comes to dispensing medication. He can take prescriptions from patients in writing, from doctor’s offices or over the phone.
